Bringing together Wi-Fi ecosystem thought leaders, the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) is holding its Wi-Fi Global Congress in Seoul, Korea on June 26-28, 2012.
In addition to discussing the latest results from Next Generation Hotspot Wi-Fi offload and roaming trials, the event will feature Boingo’s very own Luis Serrano, Senior Vice President of Business and Corporate Development, who is speaking on the panel: How to monetize Wi-Fi: A business model showcase. The Wi-Fi Global Congress is expected to draw a who’s who of the wireless industry—including Wi-Fi and mobile operators like Korea Telecom and Orange; device manufacturers and vendors like Cisco and Ericsson; telecom and Wi-Fi industry analysts, and more.
In conjunction with the Global Congress, the WBA has announced preliminary details on the next round of offload/roaming trials. In order to make Wi-Fi roaming as simple, seamless and secure as cellular roaming, industry leaders from Wi-Fi operators and vendors will put their best feet forward in 4Q2012 to enable key hotspots with Next Generation Hotspot capabilities. As participants in the trials, we’re excited about what this means for users, who will ultimately get the best network available without having to jump through any unnecessary hoops.
