The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) Summit & Celebration marked its 50th anniversary of bringing together the leaders, organizations and partners who shape America’s defense communities. The milestone event highlighted how policy, infrastructure and collaboration come together to support military installations—and the service members and families who live and serve on them. For Boingo, the gathering carried added significance as we celebrated our 25th anniversary and over two decades of delivering wireless connectivity.

A central moment of the summit was the keynote discussion, “Building Great Places for Military Families to Call Home,” featuring Boingo SVP and GM of Military Rebecca Gray, alongside Bill French, CEO of Armed Services YMCA, and Denise Hauck, President of Corvias Military Housing.

The conversation focused on the realities of military life and what it takes to support families over the long term. Strong partnerships, thoughtful policy and infrastructure modernization emerged as key themes—particularly the role of wireless connectivity in enabling daily life on base.

Across today’s military installations, connectivity underpins nearly every aspect of daily living. From communication with loved ones to remote work, online education and entertainment, reliable networks are essential.

Boingo designs, builds and manages wireless infrastructure across more than 100 military installations worldwide. Its product portfolio for military and government agencies includes Wi-FiDASmacro towers, private networks and fiber-to-the-home which are tailored to the unique needs of defense environments.

These networks support:

  • Consistent communication across devices and applications
  • Access to online learning and remote services
  • Streaming entertainment and everyday connectivity
  • Secure, reliable performance at scale

With high-speed internet access, military installations can better support both mission readiness and quality of life.

ADC50 reinforced a shared understanding across the defense ecosystem: lasting outcomes are driven by collaboration. Installation leaders, housing providers, community organizations and infrastructure partners each play a role in creating resilient, connected communities.

Boingo’s role is to provide the wireless foundation that enables connected bases—deploying infrastructure designed to evolve with growing demand while maintaining security, reliability and performance.

As ADC reflects on 50 years of impact, the focus remains forward-looking. Continued commitment to modernization and collaboration will be essential to meeting the needs of military families today and into the future.

Boingo is proud to support ADC and defense communities worldwide by delivering connectivity that strengthens quality of life on base—and helps build great places for military families to call home.
