As Boingo celebrates its 25th anniversary, we’re reflecting on the partnerships that have shaped our journey. As a trusted connectivity provider to more than 100 U.S. military installations, Boingo delivers the Wi-Fi, fiber and cellular networks that keep bases connected. Few partnerships better exemplify that mission than our long-standing collaboration with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), which helps bring connectivity to the places where service members live, work, train and gather.

For more than a decade, Boingo has partnered with AAFES to design, deploy, and manage connectivity on Army and Air Force bases.  

Boingo’s high-speed Wi-Fi, fiber and cellular networks answer the entire installation—supporting the people, places and services that help military communities thrive.

Barracks, Dorms and Family Housing 
Keeping troops and their families connected with fast Wi-Fi and fiber-based connectivity solutions that support everything from video calls and online learning to streaming entertainment and everyday communications.  

Community Hubs 
Delivering seamless coverage in exchanges, dining facilities, food courts, gyms, bowling alleys and other gathering places that serve as the heart of military communities.  

Mission and Education Centers 
Supporting connectivity inside classrooms, training environments and administrative facilities where service members learn, plan and prepare.   

Indoor and Outdoor Cellular Connectivity 
Improving coverage and capacity throughout the installation with cellular towers and distributed antenna systems (DAS) that help eliminate dead zones and ensure reliable service indoors and outdoors for all major wireless carriers.  

Smart Base Infrastructure 
Providing the network backbone for connected technologies such as security cameras, access controls, environmental sensors and other IoT solutions that help installations operate efficiently and securely. 

Honoring a legacy of service

For generations, AAFES has played a vital role in supporting service members and military families around the world. From providing essential goods and services to enhancing quality of life on military installations, AAFES helps strengthen the communities that support those who serve.

To recognize AAFES’s commitment to innovation and service, Boingo recently presented the organization with a Distinguished Partner and Innovation Honor during the 2026 Exchange Managers Conference as part of our 25th anniversary celebration. The award celebrates partners who go above and beyond in advancing innovation and strengthening support for the communities they serve. 

Accepting the honor on behalf of AAFES were Brad Bingham, Director and Chief Executive Officer; Marla Randolph, President and Chief Operating Officer; Denise Hunter, senior vice president of Services, Food & Fuel; Carla McDowell, vice president of Services; and Shalandrea Smith, chief of Telecom Services. Their collective leadership has helped strengthen the connection between military communities and the services they rely on every day, reflecting a deep, shared commitment to serving those who serve.
