ITU Telecom World 2003, Geneva, Switzerland - October 13, 2003 - Boingo Wireless announced today a partnership with The Cloud™ (www.mycloud.net) the leading Wi-Fi hotspot operator in the United Kingdom, that will give users of the Boingo™ roaming system access to more than 2,500 additional hotspots throughout the U.K. The agreement teams two of the leading Wi-Fi companies and is part of Boingo’s push to expand its Wi-Fi roaming system throughout Europe. For The Cloud™, the deal is a further step in the development of its wholesale model. Under the terms of the agreement, users of the Boingo roaming system from the U.S., continental Europe and the rest of the world will have secure, fast Wi-Fi access across the entire Cloud network, currently installed in at over 2,500 hotspot locations, with 100 new locations being added every week. “This agreement gives Boingo a huge footprint in the U.K. and strengthens our ability to serve European carriers who are considering Wi-Fi as a part of their wireless LAN strategy,” said Dave Hagan, Boingo President. “We are pleased to partner with The Cloud™ and feel the rapid growth of the company’s network demonstrates how Wi-Fi is emerging worldwide as the key remote access choice for users.” George Polk, Managing Director of The Cloud™, said: “By partnering with The Cloud™, Boingo has given its users access to a huge range of Wi-Fi hotspots in high value locations across the UK.
