October is one of my favorite months with the Exceeding Expectations kids.  As you all know, our top priority for the kids is, and always will be, education. That said, every October we participate in two athletic events that I feel are significant in laying the groundwork necessary for them to be successful in the academic world and in their adult lives.  The first of these events is the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) triathlon, aptly called “The Best Day in Triathlon.” Here’s a brief overview from their website:  “In 1994, three friends started a triathlon fundraiser to help one man regain his independence after a tragic accident left him a quadriplegic. Need gifts for the travel junkie in your life? We polled road warriors on the Boingo staff, as well as those in the Boingo Facebook community, and rounded up our favorite suggestions. Boingo Employees: Amazon Kindle ($139 and up): “I’ve become very fond of my Kindle, especially as a traveling companion. The selection of books is great, as is the Wi-Fi connectivity. I use the Maps and “Around Me” apps to figure out where I’m going or when I need to find a nail salon in a new city, pronto. I use my iPad on cross-country flights to catch up on podcasts (WNYC’s Radiolab and American

(I knew I was dealing with a bunch of geeks and dreamers.) In any case, I narrowed down the list to ten items, below. What is your current travel/technology obsession (and yes, it’s okay if you have more than one ;))? The Apple iPad: “I’m excited that it will be the first e-reader in color.” Tim Fox, director of billing and reporting. Animoto: “Animoto takes your photos and video and turns them into these amazing little movies that will make your friends believe you’re a budding Spielberg. Free.” Dawn Callahan, vice president of marketing. Internet Radio App for Nokia Smartphones: “This is an all time killer app for me. Clear digital stereo streaming of 100+ radio stations from across the globe. Works on wi-fi as well as 3G networks.” Kishore Raja, senior device engineer. SonyPlaystation 3: “Blu-ray, games, 3D Movies coming this summer, Wi-Fi, and Netflix streaming — what more do you need?” Sush Wu, software test engineer. CNN App for Blackberry: This is my real-time “newspaper” fix during my bus commute to and from
