Boingo’s Derek Peterson Named CTO of the Year

‘Los Angeles Business Journal’ Honors Executive for Technical Achievements in Wireless Industry

As Boingo’s lead technical strategist, Dr. Peterson is pioneering the adoption and deployment of the latest wireless technologies including Passpoint, an auto-authenticating Wi-Fi solution, and network functions virtualization (NFV). He is an industry advocate for the network convergence of licensed and unlicensed spectrum to accommodate the rapid growth of mobile data traffic and helps drive standards adoption through his involvement with the Wireless Broadband Alliance, MulteFire Alliance, CBRS Alliance, Wi-Fi Alliance, WIA’s Innovation Council and the New IP Agency (NIA).
