Dow Chemical Selects Boingo Wireless for Worldwide Wi-Fi Roaming
Boingo to Provide Remote Connectivity for Dow Employees
SANTA MONICA, Calif. – May 10th, 2007 – Boingo Wireless Inc., the world’s leading wholesale network aggregator and neutral-host Wi-Fi network operator, today announced that The Dow Chemical Company is now a major customer. Boingo will provide Wi-Fi Internet access services for Dow’s worldwide workforce.
Dubbed “Dow Wi-Fi, Powered by Boingo,” Dow will make the service available to over 25,000 employees who are authorized to access Dow’s network from a non-Dow location . The service offers these employees access to the Boingo network of 60,000 hotspots in airports, hotels, restaurants and convention centers in more than 70 countries worldwide.
“Boingo’s impressive coverage area will help keep our employees connected and productive while traveling – at a very competitive price,” said Shari van der Grijn, Telecommunications Services manager, Dow. “Their Wi-Fi hotspots cover the major airports and hotels that are integral to our travelers. Even more importantly, as Dow continues to grow, Boingo has demonstrated their willingness to work collaboratively with us to expand their reach into these growth locations.”
Dow employees will utilize Boingo’s new lightweight authentication client that facilitates logins at partner networks that are part of the Boingo Roaming Network.
“Dow, like all of our customers, is searching for a way to maximize the benefits of high-speed remote Internet access while closely managing remote access costs,” said Tim Farrell, Boingo vice president of product management and professional services. “Boingo’s pricing plans for corporate access offer a flexible way to meet those two needs and move their business forward.”
Boingo offers multiple corporate pricing plans tailored to the needs of businesses of all sizes, including buckets of shared connects and tiered pricing schedules. The Shared Connects plan allows an organization to share a “bucket” of wireless connect days among all of their traveling workers. The Tiered Pricing program offers Boingo accounts that are discounted based on the volume of users signed up for the service. More information is available at http://www.boingo.com/enterprise.html.
