Director of Finance
The Director of Finance will report to the SVP Finance and have responsibility for financial reporting, planning and budgeting, financial modeling and financial systems processes and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing and presenting business plans and financial models related to the strategic plan, acquisitions, market opportunities, new business ventures, etc.
- Perform monthly and quarterly comparative and variance analysis and work with senior management in identifying opportunities, risks and corrective action
- Responsible for financial systems infrastructure, operational reporting and data integrations
- Provide direction on and help lead financial systems upgrade strategies
- Identify and analyze financial and business operational trends to drive decision making processes
- Prepare the monthly metrics package
- Lead budgeting and forecast processes
- Perform ad hoc reporting, special projects and analysis as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience accounting or finance
- Exceptional Excel, database, and financial modeling skills
- Experience with FRx (required), Great Plans and Business Objects a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA strongly preferred, understanding of GAAP required
- Strong analytical and communication skills

We have both client and server software, running on laptop clients, mobile device clients, and servers running Linux and Solaris. We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager for our software development process. The atmosphere we are trying to achieve at Boingo is one of nimbleness and quick response to changing market conditions. At the same time, we need to follow best-practices in project management, software development, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will reside in the Los Angeles area and have experience in IT project management and the telecommunications industry. Experience in both large company and small company environments is desirable, including experience scaling an organization.
Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with development, quality assurance, product management, marketing, business development, and professional services through project lifecycle
- Understand business and technical requirements in order to define project scope, deliverables and delivery commitments
- Coordinate with third-party developers, customers, and business partners
- Successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects using project planning techniques and software through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Proactively track deliverables and take action when they are missing or late
- Drive project activities against plans, and develop and manage project status documentation and communications.
- As part of project status tracking and reporting, continuously assess project risk factors and recommend appropriate courses of action to mitigate
Requirements:
- 4+ years working experience as Project Manager for IT/software projects
- Assume responsibility for driving and delivering multiple projects and releases for cross-functional team
- Demonstrated ability to understand in-depth technical aspects of software development
- Proven track record in delivering large scale projects on schedule
- Strong project management skills, methodologies and analytical skills
- Ability to drive all aspects of a product through the entire life cycle

The Senior Device Engineer has the exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is developing a Wi-Fi SDK and client applications for widespread adoption. The individual is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and documenting C++ code for laptop/mobile devices on Apple (MAC/iPhone) and other operating systems.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with third party engineering efforts that consume the SDK and will need to effectively troubleshoot issues and participate in the process of integrating external bug fixes and feature implementations into the open source platform
- The SDK is cross-platform and the candidate will need to be capable of rapidly adopting and incorporating new development environments and tools
Requirements:
- Self-motivation and discipline are necessities, as is the ability to work as a team member with other in-house and external developers
- Expert C++ knowledge and experience, minimum of 5 years
- Expert Objective-C knowledge and experience, minimum of 5 years
- Cocoa development experience, minimum of 2 full year
- Strong knowledge of and experience using object-oriented design techniques
- Good computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithm design, concurrency issues, and performance assessment.
- Experience with issues of performance, memory usage, software quality, and other platform requirements on resource-constrained mobile devices.
- Development experience in more than one OS and its associated build tools
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Experience debugging code in device and emulation environments
- Experience in design and organization of cross-platform code for multiple targets
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

The Web Services Engineer is responsible for development and maintenance of the web platforms that provide sales, fulfillment, and promotional functions for the company. The engineer provides optimal design implementation for re-use and customization across myriad channels to minimize time to market with new promotions. Engineer is highly available and responsive.
Responsibilities:
- Builds, maintains and updates scalable, reliable web applications that serve as the foundation of the business
- Completes thorough unit testing using industry best practices during development to ensure quality product releases on schedule
- Provides web systems counsel relative to business problems and ensures that the strategic direction of the company is followed in tactical decisions
- Works with Marketing, Operations and Engineering teams to define, improve, and implement web technologies in support of business objectives
- Assumes advisory role with internal clients on projects to determine infrastructure and systems integration requirements to solve business problems in a support role
- Follows established procedures for file management and backup, version control, coding, commenting the code, updating the bug/sug tracker and/or making entries in history files, and documenting error messages
- Works collaboratively and cohesively with all web team members and business function representatives
Requirements:
- 4-8 years of experience in web development, including object-oriented development in C# ASP.Net and PHP environments, and working with MS-SQL Server and MySQL
- A diverse background of IT infrastructure technologies, project management and systems integration experience
- Demonstrated background in various IT Infrastructure technologies; previous experience in any or all of the technical aspects of Web hosting technology including: Microsoft IIS implementation and troubleshooting; ASP; .NET, Visual Basic, Java, C#, Windows Server 2000/2003; Windows SQL Server 2000/2005; Web scripting and shell scripting in a Windows environment; SSL and certificate management; architecture and design of high availability systems; and Web site design and performance best practices
- Front-end UI development with JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
- Web services experience
- Strong experience in Visual Studio
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Capable of discussing related infrastructure technology in simple terms and able to articulate issues that drive strategy and standards decisions to all levels of management
- Demonstrates a strong project management approach and problem solving skills; a customer service attitude, good oral and written communication skills and organizational sensitivity
