Solution enhances the mobile user experience and allows service providers to integrate the Boingo Wi-Fi footprint quickly and easily into their product offerings SANTA MONICA, CA and ACTON, MA. - - September 27, 2005 - Boingo Wireless and Tatara Systems today announced a collaboration agreement that will integrate the Boingo® Roaming System Wi-Fi network into Tatara’s converged mobile services solutions for carriers worldwide. Tatara Systems will integrate Boingo’s software development kit (SDK) Lite into its Mobile Services Convergence Platform, to enable easy access to the Boingo network footprint. The integration will make Tatara’s products “Boingo network ready,” giving Tatara’s service provider customers the ability to offer their customers a branded Wi-Fi service that includes access to the Boingo Roaming System network of more than 22,000 Wi-Fi hotspots globally, including 188 airports and 4,300 hotels. The two companies have an excellent track record serving the needs of both wireless and wireline telecommunications companies. To date, Boingo has announced Platform Services partnerships with BT Infonet, EarthLink, Fiberlink, Nextel Communications, MCI, Telecom Italia and Skype. Tatara’s announced service provider partners include Vodafone, British Telecom, Telus Mobility, VeriSign and JiWire. “The integration of Wi-Fi and 3G technology is the future trend of services for business travelers and mobile users,” said Dave Hagan, President and CEO of Boingo Wireless. ”Mobile office workers demand speed, flexibility and reliability. Tatara’s Mobile Passport program leverages the Tatara Mobile Services Convergence Platform to define, develop and deploy advanced converged mobile offerings that extends service beyond traditional connectivity. Tatara enables converged mobile services across a variety of devices from a single branded service provider over the best available access network. Tatara enables a seamless, secure, and consistent user experience and allows carriers to push branded and localized content from the home service provider to users, regardless of the access network they are using. Surrounding this collaboration, Tatara is now able extend seamless connectivity to Boingo hotspots using either the standalone Tatara Service Manager client application or Mobile Services SDK integrated with any other third party client or mobile terminal device. In addition, the Tatara solution delivers service providers access to real-time data on each user session providing advanced diagnostics, customer care and market analytics. Boingo Software integrated in the Tatara product portfolio, gives mobile travelers the best choice of Wi-Fi hotspots by combining the locations of more than 100 leading Wi-Fi operators into one worldwide network, and allowing the user to roam onto any of these locations with a single subscription.
