MetroPCS Smartphone Customers Get Fast Track to Unlimited Wi-Fi Access with Boingo Mobile

LOS ANGELES – December 21^st, 2010 – Boingo Wireless, the Wi-Fi industry’s leading provider of software and services worldwide, and MetroPCS Communications, Inc., the leader in unlimited, no annual contract wireless communications services, announced today that the Boingo Mobile app will be pre-installed on select Wi-Fi enabled smartphones offered through MetroPCS.

The agreement – Boingo’s first carrier pre-load deal – enables MetroPCS customers with Wi-Fi enabled smartphones to easily sign up for Boingo Mobile, an unlimited Wi-Fi service that includes access to more than 200,000 locations worldwide. The smartphone app provides easy, one-click access to more than 171 different networks around the world with a single username. 

At launch, MetroPCS pre-loaded Boingo Mobile on the LG Optimus M and Huawei Ascend, which run on the Android operating platform.

MetroPCS customers who purchase phones pre-installed with Boingo Mobile can simply launch the app from the @metro App store to sign up and access more than 200,000 locations worldwide for $7.95 per month. Boingo apps for compatible MetroPCS devices are also available as downloads via the MetroPCS download site.
