Telefonica and Boingo Sign Deal for Global Wi-Fi Access

Boingo Will Add More Than 2,200 Hot Spots in Spain and 400 in Argentina; Telefonica Customers Will Enjoy Access at 7,000 Boingo Hotspots

Boingo Wireless, the global market leader in Wi-Fiand Telefonica, a leading telecommunications provider, signed an agreement for global Wi-Fi access. Through this agreement Boingo will add Telefonica to its growing Boingo Roaming Network, giving Boingo members access to nearly 2,600 incremental hotspots. Additionally, Telefonica customers will be able to login to 7,000 Boingo hotspots throughout the world, including more than 20 of the top airports in North America.

Telefonica operates the largest roaming network in Spain with close to 2,200 hotspots. Telefonica Spain is the first affiliate within the Telefonica Group to launch with Boingo, and is now available for Boingo customers. Telefonica Argentina with 400 hotspots, will join the Boingo Roaming Network in the very near future. Telefonica Group is a leading telecommunications company with a significant presence in 24 countries.

With the addition of the Telefonica networks in Spain and Argentina, Boingo subscribers will be able to enjoy broadband connections throughout these regions in locations that include leading hotel groups like Accor, AC Hoteles and Barceló Hotels and Resorts, as well as McDonald's and other cafés and retail locations.

Access to the Boingo Roaming Network around the world will be available in the near future for Telefonica's customers. Telefonica customers will be able to enjoy broadband wireless connections in 7,000 hotspots from the Boingo network.

Boingo gives wired travelers the best choice of Wi-Fi hotspots by combining more than 100,000 locations from more than 150 leading Wi-Fi operators into one worldwide network spanning 90 countries. Boingo subscribers can connect to any of these locations with a single Boingo account using GoBoingo, Boingo's free Wi-Fi client software, which combines more than 660 network names into one "Boingo Wireless" network and stores the user name and password to simplify identifying and connecting to commercial Wi-Fi networks.

Telefonica and Boingo Wireless are members of the Wireless Broadband Alliance, a global alliance of major carriers to encourage roaming agreements in WLAN services.
