From one came many, and Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) took root in the belief that sports and an active lifestyle are a pathway to more in life. Since that fundraiser 25 years ago, CAF has been committed to breaking the financial barrier that individuals with physical challenges face to participate in sports and live a healthy and active lifestyle.”  Participating alongside challenged athletes in a very tough race gives our kids an additional perspective on their own lives. The racers on the course with them face obstacles that they

Okay, Boingo fans… in celebration of Valentine’s Day, we invite  you to participate in a challenge befitting our most ardent admirers: If you really love us, why don’t you get serious and propose?  Yes, we’re talking about a marriage proposal. Because every suitor is unique, we’re open to receiving different forms of proposals. If you like to express yourself in person, ask for our hand in a video. Are you a paramour of few words? The Boingo 2010 Gift Guide For Travelers

Need gifts for the travel junkie in your life? We polled road warriors on the Boingo staff, as well as those in the Boingo Facebook community, and rounded up our favorite suggestions. Boingo Employees: Amazon Kindle ($139 and up): “I’ve become very fond of my Kindle, especially as a traveling companion. The selection of books is great, as is the Wi-Fi connectivity. What’s more, the Kindle automatically syncs to my smartphone and PC.” — Jim Hamm, director of account management Apple iPad ($499 and up): “The one and only thing I absolutely *must* have when I’m traveling these days is my iPad. While I was skeptical of the iPad hoopla before it launched, I am now an unabashed convert. I use it in innumerable ways. The Kindle and Zinio apps allow me to bring along the three or four books and small stack of magazines I’m always juggling without taking up space in my carry on. I use the Maps and “Around Me” apps to figure out where I’m going or when I need to find a nail salon in a new city, pronto. I use my iPad on cross-country flights to catch up on podcasts (WNYC’s Radiolab and American

10 Travel/Technology Obsessions

Recently, I asked several Boingo folks to each share one travel or technology obsession of the moment. Unsurprisingly, my colleagues had trouble picking just one. (I knew I was dealing with a bunch of geeks and dreamers.) In any case, I narrowed down the list to ten items, below. What is your current travel/technology obsession (and yes, it’s okay if you have more than one ;))? The Apple iPad: “I’m excited that it will be the first e-reader in color.” Tim Fox, director of billing and reporting. Animoto: “Animoto takes your photos and video and turns them into these amazing little movies that will make your friends believe you’re a budding Spielberg. Free.” Dawn Callahan, vice president of marketing. Internet Radio App for Nokia Smartphones: “This is an all time killer app for me. Clear digital stereo streaming of 100+ radio stations from across the globe. Works on wi-fi as well as 3G networks.” Kishore Raja, senior device engineer. SonyPlaystation 3: “Blu-ray, games, 3D Movies coming this summer, Wi-Fi, and Netflix streaming — what more do you need?” Sush Wu, software test engineer. CNN App for Blackberry: This is my real-time “newspaper” fix during my bus commute to and from
