Boingo Wireless (NASDAQ: WIFI), the leading DAS and Wi-Fi provider that serves consumers, carriers and advertisers worldwide, announced today that Chief Technology Officer Dr. Derek Peterson and Jon Landa, Boingo Media vice president, will present at the Wi-Fi Offload Summit, the preeminent global carrier Wi-Fi event. The Wi-Fi Offload Summit will be held June 18-19, 2014 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto, CA.
Dr. Peterson will discuss Boingo’s vision for the next generation in carrier Wi-Fi in his presentation, titled “Next Steps in the Carrier Wi-Fi Movement.” Under Dr. Peterson’s leadership, Boingo became the first company to enable Hotspot 2.0 networks in the United States for consumer use, launching networks in more than 20 of the busiest airports in the nation serving more than 445 million travelers annually.
Jon Landa, vice president of Boingo Media, Boingo’s advertising and sponsorship services group, will participate in the “Monetization” track at the event with a talk titled “Monetizing Carrier Wi-Fi with Advertising.” Jon will provide insights from recent successful Wi-Fi sponsorship and advertising campaigns that contributed to Boingo’s triple digit growth in advertising revenues year-over-year to demonstrate revenue opportunities available to wireless service providers, venues and brands. The presentation will explore technical considerations for network operators to provide the best possible user experience while monetizing connections.
