Boingo Wins ACG Award for “Public Company Growth”

-

Though Boingo’s international network has expanded to offer connectivity from Manhattan to Macedonia, the company’s roots are in Los Angeles. Boingo has long been Silicon Beach-adjacent, and continues to be a leader in the LA tech community.

So it was an especially great honor when leading Los Angeles business organization, Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Los Angeles, selected Boingo as the 2013 winner of the “Public Company Growth” award. The ACG Awards recognize outstanding companies in the Los Angeles area who have demonstrated leadership and innovation, and represent the next generation of market leaders.

The award is a testament to Boingo’s continued growth from small venture-backed start-up in Santa Monica to international wireless carrier. Since becoming a public company in 2011, Boingo has evolved into a location-based media company, acquiring Cloud Nine Media last year and providing a variety of advertising services; partnered with major international carriers including AT&T and NTT DOCOMO; and launched wireless services at diverse locations ranging from Wendy’s restaurants to the New York City Subway System, among many other milestones.

Boingo was also in great company as a 2013 ACG Award winner. Los Angeles based-companies renowned for their leadership in fields as diverse as e-commerce, entertainment and gourmet burgers were also celebrated for their accomplishments, including United Online, Inc., Lionsgate, Pabst Brewing Co. and Umami Restaurant Group.

Our thanks to the Los Angeles Chapter of the ACG for this honor.
