Considering an Easter trip with the family? Frommer’s features ten great Easter packages. Our favorite among them is the Hershey Lodge in Pennsylvania. As it’s name and geographical location suggests, this hotel is all about chocolate. During Easter, the hotel lawn is covered in chocolate — a sweet setting for the weekend’s festivities, which include “cookie decorating, egg hunts, bingo, pool games, s’mores, character appearances, a non-denominational sunrise service, and a Hershey’s Kiss Hunt.” The Easter package starts at $349 per night for a family of four. Price includes park admission, two breakfasts, and a few other area attractions. The room-only rate starts at $219 per night. (Via Frommer’s)
How about a quick jaunt to Vegas? Need a little more convincing? Try these two deals on for size: 1) the Luxor is currently offering rooms for only $50 per night 2) the Platinum Hotel and Spa has a deal for $99 per night. We’ve had very enjoyable stays at the Luxor, which is located right on the Strip. The Luxor special is valid for stays from now through April 30, 2011, excluding Saturday nights. Book by 4/9/11. The luxurious Platinum Hotel and Spa is a hotel we’ve had our eye on but have yet to experience. We hear it’s a perfect place to stay if you’d rather indulge in some pampering rather than gambling. Located two blocks from the Strip, the Platinum offers 950 square-foot suites (wow!) with gourmet kitchens, hot tubs, and private balconies. Stay there between now and 8/31/2011, weekends included depending on availability. (Via AOLTravel)
The Hawaii deals keep rolling in…we just found out that one of our favorite places to stay on Maui, the Maui Kai Kaanapali Beach condos, is offering suites starting at $189 per night. We love staying in these spacious condos because of the two-second access to the beach and the amenities such as full kitchen, living room and pool. It’s a perfect place for a group of family and friends. Stay between now and 12/20/2011. (Via Budget Travel)
If Madrid is on your travel list, be sure to check out these five amazing museums that offer free admission. The Museo Naval de Madrid, in particular, caught our eye for its “treasures accumulated by Columbus, navigational instruments, and murals of routes taken by Spanish explorers.” (Via Eurocheap)
