Monday, February 21st is Presidents’ Day in the U.S. and a day off for many folks in the U.S. If you’re contemplating a kid-friendly excursion, consider the Omni Parker House in downtown Boston. The hotel is offering a Wet-n-Wild Aquarium Package starting at $142 per night. Price includes hotel, breakfast buffet at the Parker Restaurant, tickets to the New England Aquarium for each registered guest, a disposable camera, and milk and cookies and a goodie-filled Omni Kids backpack. Boston is a great city for some education on American history! Book by December 31, 2011. (Via Budget Travel)
Sonoma Valley, with it’s acres of vineyards and rolling hillsides, includes some of California’s best scenery. The wine region also offers great accommodations, including the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, a luxurious spa resort not far from downtown Sonoma. Book anytime before November 2011 and pay as low as $239 per night, including breakfast. We weren’t able to determine the “non-sale” price, but we can tell you that $239/night is quite a bargain for staying in a place this nice in Sonoma Valley. (Via Travel + Leisure)
What’s your plan for spring break in April? May we recommend Los Angeles, where we are headquartered? We might be biased about the city, but there’s no denying the near year-round sunshine, blue ocean, and breezy living. If you’re interested but don’t want to pay the high prices for a beachside hotel room, check out the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in West L.A. For two weekends in April (Apr. 15–17, 22–24), the hotel is offering a 35% discount on rooms. This means rooms start at $152 — however, take note: no perks such as breakfast included. Still, we think this is a fantastic deal if you want to be in a central location from hotspots such as Santa Monica, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. 21-day advance purchase required. (Via BudgetTravel)
Barcelona, si si? We’ve been there several times and never tire of the sights, the cava, and the tapas. With the exception of this week, which is Mobile World Congress, January through March is a great time for travel bargains in Spain. Check out this five-night Barcelona package, for instance: five nights in a four-star, centrally-located hotel and roundtrip airfare for $1099. Additionally, you receive arrival transfers, walking tour, and bus ticket at no extra cost. (Via Frommer’s)
Want to be in London during the Royal nuptials (April 29, 2011)? The Today Show is offering a video contest in which the grand prize is a four-day, three night trip to London for two (includes airfare, accommodations, transportation to and from the airport, and a $150/day stipend per person). The contest is open to U.S. residents only. The deadline is March 4, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. ET. If you win, we’ll give you free Boingo Wi-Fi access for the trip. Good luck! (Via AOL Travel)
